Who is the target audience?

This program is meant for leaders who are curious about the Groundwater analysis, direct reports of leaders who have already attended the 2-day training and staff with key roles in sustaining the work (e.g. HR, staff in functions that directly support equity strategy).

What do attendees learn?

Day 1

  • Module 1: Intro to Groundwater Analysis

  • Module 2: History and Construction of Race

  • Module 3: Historical Wealth Analysis

Day 2

  • Module 4: The Role of the Individual

  • Module 5: Invisibility of Accumulation

  • Module 6: Structural Racial Arrangement

What do attendees get from it?

The 1.5-day immersive experience is designed to develop the capacity of leaders to better understand racism and inequity in its institutional and structural forms. The program does so by providing participants with:

  • A clearer understanding of how institutions, systems, and the people in them are producing unjust and inequitable outcomes

  • Shared language and context that facilitates effective problem-solving

  • Increased commitment to work for change, and intention to develop themselves as leaders in this work

  • Tools, data, and frameworks to more effectively share and put into practice their knowledge

What do attendees say after completing it?

  • “This program was so much more substantive than others I have attended both in terms of the quantity of information and data shared and the depth of the discussions that followed the presentation of that information. I feel very lucky to have been given the opportunity to participate and would unreservedly recommend the program to all others.”

  • “This was an incredible experience with thoughtful and supportive facilitation. I knew much of the “facts” already but the way it was integrated and presented was very meaningful and impactful. The videos are the right length and discussion time was just enough. The honesty and sharing among participants was critical.”

  • “The depth of systematic racism is shocking, disappointing, and a little overwhelming. The facilitation, the flow of the content, and - particularly - the diverse group of attendees providing their feedback and life experiences helped fill in gaps where my own experience was not the same, and where I have not been able to contextualize such a vast chronology of history.”
